Shayne C. Wilcox, DVM is a Canadian born Veterinarian who graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island School Of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Following graduation, Dr. Wilcox spent his first two years of practice in Ontario, Canada developing his interest in equine medicine and lameness while working on various breeds or performance horses and standard bred race horses.
In 2005, Dr. Wilcox relocated to Pilot Point, Texas joining a progressive equine practice as an associate and staff veterinarian focusing solely on the diagnosis and treatment of lameness in performance horses with emphasis on the western performance industry. Dr. Wilcox was invited to team up with Equine Sports Medicine, a mobile equine hospital where his passion for sports medicine and current therapeutic management techniques were utilized at many major equine events throughout the country. A desire for diversity and continued exposure resulted in Dr. Wilcox joining Specifically Equine, a well-known and respected practice in Central California during the fall of 2011.
In 2014, Dr. Wilcox opened Elite Equine Sport Horse Medicine & Lameness as he continues to share his expertise and focus on soundness and performance in the upper level hunter/jumper discipline. Dr. Wilcox follows top circuit shows traveling from Central California to the Florida coast improving the performance of Elite Grand Prix and Olympic caliber horses while working alongside some of the best trainers in the industry.
Dr.Wilcox and his family live in Prosper, Texas just north of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Dr. Wilcox and his wife Amanda enjoy spending time as a family playing outdoors and traveling with their two young children.
